Accessibility
We build for an audience that is often older, often on a phone, and often making a hard decision for someone they love. Accessible design is not a checkbox for us. It is the work.
Our commitment
Greatness Digital is committed to making our website, and the websites we build for our clients, usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification. Because we serve seniors and their families, usability for older adults is central to how we design, not an afterthought.
The standard we hold to
We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
What that looks like in practice
- Legible type at 16px or larger, with generous line spacing
- Color contrast that meets at least the 4.5:1 AA minimum for text
- Tap targets sized and spaced for aging hands, at least 44 by 44 pixels
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus states
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Semantic, well-structured headings and landmarks for screen readers
- Motion that respects the “reduce motion” setting on your device
- Fast pages, because speed is an accessibility issue too
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is never finished. We test with keyboard and screen readers during design and development, review our work against WCAG as we build, and treat accessibility issues as bugs to be fixed, not nice-to-haves. As standards evolve and as we learn, we keep improving.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party tools we embed, such as video players, scheduling widgets, or maps, are not always under our control and may not meet the same standard. Where we find a gap, we work to fix it or offer an accessible alternative.
Tell us how we are doing
If you run into a barrier on this site, or you need information in a different format, we want to hear from you. Please tell us what happened, the page you were on, and the device or assistive technology you were using, so we can reproduce and fix it.
